The union (if I may use that word) of any two individuals is important.

Who you walk with is key. Who you run with is key. The outcome of your life and all that concerns you rests on this. How you choose your partners is key too.
Relatives we cannot choose generally but should we decided to work with them, live with them, we have chosen.

More than we might realise, God is interested with whom we partner: – in our businesses, in ministry, in relationships broadly and most definitely marriage.
For each partner, there would be a corresponding instruction and leading. Where to go, who to go the journey with, why you should go the journey together.

God is purposeful, in all of His ways, nothing has ever been done by God without purpose. The partners we pick or are picked by must be ones of purpose. Purpose that gladdens God’s heart, partners that are pleasing unto God, made just for the scenario.
When you think partners, think – suitable, comparative to, equally yoked, helpmeet, approved of God.

About a month …a little over a month ago i got presented with the opportunity to be a friend. I reached out for it with both hands and my heart, not quite sure how it would all turn out. It has been a remarkable experience for me. The basis of our friendship was our mutual love for Christ. As i encouraged my friend in her walk with God, i found me getting encouraged also. Reminds me now of a line from one of  Fred Hammond songs [sic]‘let me encourage you while i encourage me’. Yet again i realised that the law of seedtime was at play. In my zeal to be a friend, i had gotten blessed with a friend. Blessed beyond what i had envisaged. A one off chance i took, found me walking down roads i never imagined. And it all began with reaching out to the other. There have been days i got exasperated with her, when it seemed she did not meet up with my expectations…please don’t ask me about its validity. Looking back over the days am grateful for the friend i made in being a friend.

A long time ago, another reached out for me, though we had no mutual platform to build upon. With consistent love and genuine good thoughts towards me, i found myself reaching right back, responding. I began to believe that indeed all my Friend told me was true and in His Words i could trust. All i know today about being a friend i have learnt of my Friend. Through the times i decided that didn’t want to be friends anymore when i assumed He was being a spoil sport. My Friend let me be. Yet never stopped loving me, guiding me along the best pathway. In my friendship with Him, i found the courage and ability to go and do like wise. We still have our moments when i pause and say “for real” “why is that?”. Reminiscing over the beautiful pictures we’ve created as memories, i can say truly i have been blessed with the Bestest of Friends in Him. Responding to His love and pleasing Him is a way to show i appreciate the gift of Him via our friendship, while reaching out to others as a friend is yet another way.

Am learning daily to do like my Friend…extending a loving arm and heart to people with who i have no mutual basis with. Being a friend is a lifes work that is beautifully enriching. It sure can be vulnerable to open up your life to another but every walk of the way, through the misgivings, misunderstandings and fun times is well worth it.

Have you truly responded to my Friend? I am sure His love has come tapping at your door…love is His way.
I call Him my Best Friend for All times…His name is Jesus Christ.

A friend loves at all times.. Prov 17:17a

Even when we where yet sinners, Christ died for us. Roman 5:6

For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of His Son while we were still His enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life in of His Son. So now was can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. Romans 5 :10 & 11

There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friend. John 15:13
