They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. Titus 1:16

Knowledge of God should be expressed in our actions, words, choices and lifestyle. It is not meant to be in isolation of who one is, but rather a direct source of who we are.

The alignment of ones knowledge of God and works is the strength of character of a person. Works as used in this verse connotes – lifestyle, which encompasses: – words, actions, decisions, dress sense etc.

To know God is to do the will of God on a daily as we breathe. It is to show that the excellency is of Him and never of us, we are but vessels – chosen by Him unto honour.

To know God is to be obedient every step of the way He leads us, to be a living sacrifice, acceptable and fit for the Master’s use.

Anything short would cause us to be workers of iniquity, who after all our “works” would not hear well done. It would make us people who opine that the word of God is all inclusive and changing with the times as the world changes.

They who profess knowledge not seen in their works are the defiled and unbelieving. Not so for the pure, our knowledge of God is seen in our lifestyle and our good works are qualified.
